Born and bred in Bahrain which by no means has any Trance or Electronic music scene whatsoever - Amir has fallen in love with electronic music back in 2007 for the first time having been massive alternative rock fan beforehand.

He moved to the UK in 2010 to study a Communications & PR course but still found time to experience the trance scene in the country first-hand.

As a DJ he had the privilege to play on the same line-ups with big names in the Trance scene such as Sean Tyas, Mark Sherry & Lange. The good thing that Amir prides himself with and is a very strong aspect of his arsenal is his flexibility of tune selections that can include music from other sub-genres of electronic music such as Techno/Progressive & Electro House.

We had a talk with him about his career , personal life and more!

    Serious Questions:

    1. Who are you making collabs with right now? تنها كاربران عضو مي توانند لينك ها را مشاهده كنند. در تماس باشید

At the minute I am collaborating with Tangle, for a second time. Absolutely love this dude's breakdowns. I will also be collaborating with Andres Sanchez soon.

    2. Who would you like to make a collab with?
I would love to collaborate with John Askew - a man who has helped and advised and supported me a lot!

    3. If you could make a top 10 of your favorite tracks, what are they?

    Sean Tyas - Lift
    Jochen Miller - Lost Connection
Sander van Doorn pres. Purple Haze - Bliksem
    Simon Patterson - Us
Ernesto vs. Bastian - Every Inch a King
    Dakota - Chinook (Uplifting Mix)
Marcus Schossow pres. Progressia - The Shelter
Jon O'bir - Found a Way (Joint Operations Center Remix)
Armin van Buuren - Rush Hour
    Ferry Corsten - Radio Crash

    4. What are your favorite labels?

Monster Tunes, Captivating (Armada), Coldharbour Recordings (2006 - 2012)

    5. Which country do you think has the best trance scene right now?
Probably a tie between the UK & The Netherlands. Honourable mentions to Mexico, Poland & Argentina.

    6. What have you heard about Latin American trance scene?

The fans are absolutely immense in how they love the music & are passionate about the scene. Playing a Latin American gig is something I'd love to happen in the near future.

    7. Which production are you most proud of?
Tough question, I really like all the stuff I put out almost equally.. if you asked my favourite I would probably say a tie between ''Catharsis'' & ''Presence of Mind''However which one I'm the most proud of, that would have to be ''Step Into My World'' with Allen Watts as it was a proper collaboration with both of us genuinly putting in as much effort in it. The melody/lead/pad was Allen's and the rest was me, I think it ended up very well!!

    8. Who was your inspiration when getting in to Trance?

Markus Schulz & Sean Tyas by far. Unfortunately I am not too big on Schulz's sound now but 2006-2011 Schulz was a God to me. Earlier influence was Tiesto, my first ever influence actually.

    9. In which city would you like to play a set? And in which club or festival?

I would love to play Luminosity one day, I have heard nothing but great things. However honestly I take every gig regardless in which city, club or festival as another chance to do what I love.. and that is to meet Trance fans like me and play Trance music for them. Obviously for them to enjoy the music I release / the music I play is a lovely feeling & this is the main reason I do this. To make people feel that way by doing something I enjoy and love so much.

    10. How do you think your life would look like in the next five years? Career wise, personal life etc. تنها كاربران عضو مي توانند لينك ها را مشاهده كنند. در تماس باشید

To give a general answer it is something impossible for me to predict. If I went back in time and told myself that I would go through this and that, I would achieve this and that etc. I would not believe myself. But if I had to predict..Career - I am about to start my final year at University and will graduate as a Bachelor of Public Relations and Marketing, I will ideally look for a job in Dubai when I am finished. I am Middle Eastern as you can see from my name and I do miss the Middle East. I don't know where Music will take me, I like the fact I'm slowly and steadily growing but I can't predict what my feelings or taste will be in Trance music by then. Personal Life - Still lazy, single & loving electronic music (although God knows what sub genre). I'll go with Trance for now.

    11. How do you think trance will sound in the next five years? Any major changes in sound?

Well for starters the ''slower trance'' did not sound like it does now when I first got into this genre back in 2006. Its got a electro/commercial touch about it now which I am not a huge fan of, but I can appreciate some of it. I don't think its ''killing real trance'' as some people think of it, because at the end of the day it is still a door and an opportunity for any potential new fan of the genre to find out about the genre and look for more music themself + for them to find their kind of ''Trance'' music. The sound quality has most definately improved since five years back and that of course will keep improving for the next few years. It seems the 138 sound is resurgent at the minute now more than ever and im glad to be a part of it. In the music scene everyone copies from one another (nothing wrong with that) and the resources are somewhat limited. There will always be the producers who make the effort to sound unique, and there will be the ones who release music that sounds like everything else out there, doesn't mean the quality is bad though. Seems like Psy is starting to creep into ''normal'' Trance sets now as well. However Psy is not my thing.

    12. Who do you think are dominating the trance scene in these 5 years?

In no specific order - John Askew, Mark Sixma, Simon Patterson, Jordan Suckley & Allen Watts have all grown considerably since I've discovered them.

    13. If a big label is offering you 1 million pound , BUT you shall only produce pop music and NEVER ever again trance. Will you do accept this offer? تنها كاربران عضو مي توانند لينك ها را مشاهده كنند. در تماس باشید

Who wouldn't want 1 million pounds? Who says money doesn't buy happiness? I'd say yes if they didn't restrict me to not making Trance music anymore. So for that reason its a no from me.

    14. Where did it all start with your productions? Did you thought "hey , this track sounds cool... I want to make Trance too!"?
I've been following trance for about nearly three years before deciding to release music myself and then there was the learning part and making the vital connections over time to which has got me where I am now.I don't remember what triggered it as it was some time ago, but I do remember that it was to put out a unique sound or at least try to of what I think is ''Trance'' music.

    15. Anything you listen to besides Trance?

Alternative Rock / Techno / Progressive House (not the commercial kind!)

    16. What was your worst experience as a DJ and what was your most memorable one?

Worst - A new years eve party when I was a bedroom DJ back in 2009. Someone asked me to play on new years eve, I got the equipment together and everything but they did no effort to actually get people there.. nearly nobody came..But it gets worse. One of my mates decides to get ridiculously drunk and I had to get him home.. lets not forget about the taxi drivers who wouldnt want to drive a drunk home.. out of the few ones still working on new year's eve.

Best - My most recent one in my home country of Bahrain. The turn out was incredible and I did not think there were any Trance fans in Bahrain.. I was wrong!

    17. As we are a Dutch forum, we could not let this one pass. Which festival in The Netherlands did you visit? And are you dreaming of headlining one? If yes, which one? تنها كاربران عضو مي توانند لينك ها را مشاهده كنند. در تماس باشید

I would love to visit Holland in the first place!! I have heard such great things about the Dutch and their festivals and their love of the music/party.

    18. What hardware/software do you use and what are your favourite VSTs?

    Hardware:

    KRK VXT 6 x 2
    KRK Studio Headphones
    MIDI Keyboard Roland TB-3

    Software:

    Cubase 7.5
    Spire
Virus TI VST (I sold my Virus hardware synth because it kept crashing my DAW but I have a Powercore Soundcard which comes with the Virus VST and it works great!)
    Massive VST
    Sylenth
Fab****** (and the other Fab addons)
    Trillian
    Omnisphere
    QuikQuak

    Love at First Grope *

    2. Do Siamese twins pay for one ticket or two tickets when they go to movies and concerts? تنها كاربران عضو مي توانند لينك ها را مشاهده كنند. در تماس باشید

I don't think they can disguise it to go in with one ticket.. although imagine how annoying when one of them needs to go to the toilet and the other one doesn't!

    3. What was the last thing you ate/drink?

Salad, Rice, Chicken fillet. Were you expecting something fancy like Caviar? No no, I'm a peasant.

    4. Why is a carrot more orange than an orange?

Is it? I've not even been looking at either long enough. You're talking to someone who should really eat more fruits and veggies.

    5. 8=====D is this a shovel or crying smiley face?

My friend always used to send me that, he said its a *****.

    6. Are you a religious person?

No. However I would like to think there is a God/Higher power out there that guides us and helps us in our time of need.I respect everyones beliefs as long as they do not interfere with the quality of my life. These things are none of my business.

    7. Who is the hottest woman ever created on earth? تنها كاربران عضو مي توانند لينك ها را مشاهده كنند. در تماس باشید

I honestly can't just pick one, but here are my picks..Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba, Emma Stone, Emma Watson.

8. Tits or Asses?

Tits. Yes, I am a **** man. 34D and above please. I can still appreciate a lovely ass though.

9. What is your favorite animal? And do you have pets?

Dogs. All breeds. I don't have any pets at the minute as I am not allowed in this flat. Back at home where I still live with my parents they say I am a Dog, no need to go get one. I think they have a point!

10. When are you getting the Gareth Weston haircut?

Its all about the fro. I had a fro not too long ago. I loved it, until I went out to DS in Leeds this one night and every drunk/drugged up person felt through it. That was when I knew the Fro had to go.
